Leave to dry on plant, Or chop chop?

I am going away for three weeks. The day I leave will be about day 51 of flowering. I would ordinarily have left them for about another week after that.

So my options are:
1. chop chop quite early on day 51
2. Leave the plants in the dark for 3 weeks (leave them to die and dry up on the plant)

I wont be leaving the lights on due to fire risk, but I assume that the plant will still mature to some extent in the dark.

WWJD?

What strain are you growing, also, there is a 14 day window for harvest, 51 days sounds a bit to early. If at all possible let grow, but leaving you will have a watering issue. if you can't get some body to water them, guess I would chop, but your quality of thc will be low, and leaving plants in dark for 3 weeks with out water might kill them.

Is there a way you can keep it alive for another week after you leave? Water it really good right before you go and give it some light . If you were worried about fire issues then you might be in doubt about your setup.
Then you would still have that wilted up mess waiting for you but it will be a lot better.
Or chop it and get less then quality smoke. I think Jebus would save it ;)

i have 2 blueberry, and one 'ice widow'.
I might do half and half or something.
its not that im worried about the light, but there is that small chance of burning the house down, that isnt worth taking,

I dont no how many plants you have or what but if you want you could set a timer that's a weekly one not a 24 hour and set it to water every 4 days have a big res so you don't run out of water that way you can leave in the dark if not just chop her but try and dry then cure before you leave good luck

IF chop it early the crop will be use-less - maybe making eatibles out of the product before you leave, and next if possible plan a bit better, we can't help un-planned suituations

i have done the maths, and it will be day 53 tomorrow (when i leave)
i might cut half, and leave the rest for 3 weeks with just a couple of CFLs.

Blueberry is noted to flower for 8-10 weeks. 8x7=56. You should be alright there bud still your not going to get a fully ripe flower judgeing by your bud image. But is a nice fat bud though good job bro ;)

edit: just checked on the Iced Widow strain it is also noted to flower in 56 days.
Good luck

More helpful advice. Maybe he plans well but has had a death in the family?

IF YOUR NOT GOING TO GIVE HELPFUL ADVICE THEN HOW ABOUT KEEPING SILENT SO YOU DONT JUMBLE UP ANOTHER THREAD WITH YOUR BS!

If it were me I'd trust my system. But I'd turn the power down on the lights so the plants don't dry as quick. It also might slow down the development a bit? There are ways wick method is one that can help in situations like this. But letting them die, dry and wilt into a mess would not be one option I would NOT pursue.

As a new member here...and welcome with your 19 likes, you will in time meet many a strange grower with many screwed up fallacies and techniques for growing, whether the absence is for his own funeral or yours is irrelevant, but have the skill or even the gear to maintain a grow thru any absence is no big deal, obviously a heavy prune then set to re-veg is the obvious reaction to a grow room holiday, and leave a couple of cfl's on too ...is no strain other than to the op...?
heres a 'like' to round u off ......!

The funny part is people like Vostok are exactly why I don't post more often. But when I see a person of any level or experience asking about a specific thing that I can help with I will. But what I won't do is ruin a thread with BS. I also won't take the actions of one person and blow up other members threads for the rest of my life. If you have helpful advise Vostok I'm sure everyone one who has a question they feel is worth opening a thread for would love to hear your input. But I'm just as sure those same people would rather you refrained from this

I leave mine for 10 days each and every year, I water the day I leave and they need water when I get back, but they are always fine. Automation is king, you can even Auto water with gravity or a pump if you want, but that's another thread.

i made a dripper from a large bucker and tubes. It is pretty genius, even if I do say so myself.

and yes it was a poorly planned grow. So what. If I had planned, I wouldnt have grown at all.

i have been smoking popcorn buds for the last 2 weeks. I dont expect to be too disappointed.

From the looks of the bud you wont be wasting the grow imo. If uncomfortable leaving it pull it. Actually I always on the verge if running out so it looks good to go lol.
