new purple growth

Hey all. I put a cpl clones outside this year. Mostly sativa, in 5-7 gal pots, organic. They started throwing out new growth with a lot of purple on leaves and pistols.
My only thought is, the nights are consistently in low 60s and sometimes into 50s. I guess the cold temps locked up the P. Im gonna wrap the pots to hopefully hold in the heat it has. If I foliar feed with some P, will it be able to use it?
Any thoughts anyone has about either the cause or remedy I would greatly appreciate it.

Can't really see much in your picture, quality is poor. Low temps will lock out P but I don't think the 50's will do it. More like low 40s in my experience, but I could be wrong. P will lock out from ph imbalance as well so that may be worth investigating if you haven't already.

I thought it would have to be colder too. I did read that equatorial sativas were more sensitive, mine is sativa but jus bag seed.
Have to try a sheet of paper tomorrow.

I just wish that many other members could be so far seeing? keep them warm use black 1/2 gallon jugs of water to make a solar heater, or surround with rocks for the same.....to my blog: https://www.rollitup.org/Journal/Entry/understanding-red-stems.28748/

Wow, now that's some serious purple! I've never seen one that dramatic. Do you know if purple runs in the genetics?

Unusual. Drastic. I want to agree with hexthat. It seems it is the temperatures that are stimulation the color change. The genetics are there .Curious about the strain. I would love to know the pH of those pots
