August 2nd I have a wedding to attend in addition to my favorite league's fantasy football draft on the 2nd.

I'll go back and check your post' buts i'm wondering what parade that was.
Thats the Freemont Solstice Parade in Seattle. It was pretty fuckin EPIC! 10 straight blocks of naked bikers in every color and costume you could ever imagine haha.

looks like fun!
I'm a hippie at heart. obviously from Eugene. I'm pretty burnt out on Alaska right now. Missing my parents and their golden years.
both me and my wife are WAY past ready to leave Alaska!

I love it up here, but it's so far from home. Both culturally and physically. I know my wife will stick with me but some times she says crazy shit like lets move to Healy or back to Talkeetna. I'm thinking a bit more south, like say Seattle. LOL. I guess we'll figure it out someday.

I could never leave this state for good. I hate the people and their attitudes everywhere else. I like being able to strike up a conversation w strangers and smile at someone on the street. Everywhere else it seems like people are so scared of strangers that they cant even make eye contact

I once spent 6 weeks in NYC going to a school.
The downtown lunch time crowd on the street is nutz - hold your head up and try to catch people's eye as you're walking at them & they part like Moses waving at the Red Sea.

Poor fkrs ~ reminded me of hamsters running the wheel cause they don't know a real world exists outside of all that concrete.

I spent two months in NYC when I was 18. It was a trip. I think anyplace can be a great place to live. I've been to many places myself and while each is different, they all have value and things not available in other locations.
I think mindset is the most important factor regarding location. If you live a place you have to embrace it, and I think the more unique and less inline with your upbringing the more you need to embrace it.
I could live in So Cal if I had the right mindset.

I don't really embrace Alaska anymore. I understand that I'm the problem not the state or the other people here. I accept that and a large part of me wishes it were different.

I Don't care if you're a hippie or a naked biker or a businesswoman or even if your long hair covers up your redneck- I look forward to meeting fellow ganja lovers at the first AK RIU picnic!

I'm eager to see some dates laid out so I can pencil this in, but Kincaid works for me and I'll gladly bring food, drink and a dish to share.

I do have a question tho. I've ordered lots of cannabis seeds through the mail without problem but still I'm unclear on the law re: seed possession. I'm also unclear on RIU policy on discussing off-site seed swapping. If its ok to ask, then would the picnic be a good place to bring seeds to share/swap? I have more seeds than I'll ever sprout, mostly single freebies that are labeled, and would be interested in swapping some if possible- especially for any genetics that have been run in AK for a while. (I have a particular need for a good auto male, or at least some non-fem autos :weed:...)

If its okay to discuss seed swapping, I imagine there may be some win-win trades to be made?:hump:

This is exactly why we all need to meet up and extend our community! The sharing of genetics is one of the main reasons I would love for everyone to show up! We cant talk about it here but if we all meet in person we can talk about whatever we want!

Im just throwing a date out there to get us started. Any time frame that Does work for you GWN?
I've no trips scheduled right now - just finished up my annual @ the VA so I doubt I'll make it again for a couple of months at least. I'd say pick a date that works for everyone & if it works out you'll see my ugly mug.
