The Main-Lining Thread

Hey kids!- what an amazing resource and thread. What do you think about the potential for mainlining Iranian Autoflower/Iranian Short Season. I think that there would be a long enough veg period to allow recovery from pruning before flowering, but I am concerned that the stress of the pruning could initiate flowering before I want it to? The plan is to veg indoors for 6 to 8 weeks then flower outdoors. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you're really talking about an autoflower, you don't have the luxury of deciding how long to veg. Personally I think LST would be a better idea for auto flowering strains. That way you make use of every bit of vegetation that thing can crank out in it's short lifespan.

Out of curiosity, why autoflowerers? Why purposely grow a strain that is diluted with THC-free Ruderalis? If size is a the concern, there are definitely ways around that.

I was going to post in the grow room set-up forum but, figured since I will be main-lining and available light will be put to better use I would ask here.

1) My grow room is around 6.5x4.5 feet I will be using 2 600w MH/HPS lights growing in 10 gallon pots. Would it be ok to grow 10 plants main-lining for 8 colas?

2) Semi related. 10 gallon pots are around 16 inches wide has anyone put tomato cages that are 12-14 inches wide and fit the 8 colas through there to give it a more wheat bushel or bouquet look?

Thanks for the response. The Iranian Autoflower has a somewhat confusing name. The general consensus is that it is actually a short season plant and not a true autoflower. Generally it will shift into flowering with any modest change in photoperiod. Thus, shifting plants vegged at 20/4 indoors out under a early summer 15/9 outdoor sky will induce sustained flowering. My concern is whether a major stress event such as topping and training might also induce flowering? IAF is generally grown by those wanting a decent, but early stealth outdoor harvest. Many people at latitude 42-43 successfully finish IAF outdoors in early to mid July. If not mainlined, they will be LST'd but would like to mainline if possible. Again, thanks for the input.

Search this thread. I am pretty sure Nugs went over the pot sizes and grow room sizes that make the most sense in earlier posts.

What configuration of pots? 5x2?

I would run 6 in there, my plants (8 headed) each take up a 2x2 foot print comfortably. [ QUOTE=maverickx;10375269]I was going to post in the grow room set-up forum but, figured since I will be main-lining and available light will be put to better use I would ask here.

I hear you that is why I was asking if 10 gallon pots are around 16 inches wide has anyone put tomato cages that are 12-14 inches wide and fit the 8 colas through there to give it a more wheat bushel or bouquet look or scrog and keep the colas from growing wider than the pot. I guess no one has tried that. I do remember someone mentioning in this thread that you do not want to colas to be to close.

17" with the lip on the pot. All the growth comes from the center of the pot or how ever write your manifold is, mine are generally less than 6" wide so even with a 12" ring your spreading out the Colas and then how ever much they lean out over top... Forget about wheat your growing weed

Hi Y'all, good to see the site back up.

Well I am at day 51 of 12/12, hard to say how much longer.
The things I have read have said 8 weeks on the WW and 10 weeks on the Ice, But have been reading post of folks that grow them, most say 9 to 10 weeks on the WW (68 days) and 10 plus on the Ice (70 +days) not sure, I am watching thricomes. From what I have read, on the Ice I need to look for majority cloudy, next is amber then clear remaining. The WW I am not sure, there are so many different breeders calling theirs WW. My strain is from Amsterdam Seed, so just not sure they say 8 weeks, I am no where near ready to harvest IMHO!

Well here are some pics, I also have a clone from the WW that will finish as a bush once these ladies are done.

Mistakes made during grow!

Flowered to long, trimmed too much, did not let the light do the work.

Damn it, I hate that.

Oh well I am expecting 5 zips from the three plants and another 1.5 or so from the bush.

WW from Amsterdam Seeds, Ice from Nirvana.
I would like to get seeds from Mr. NIce Seeds as Shantibaba's is partnered there and he was the first with WW, he was working with Green House Seeds at the time in 94/5 and he has the mother plant.
That will be my next purchase of WW.
I see your a Subcool fan, I love his work. Last grow was Querkle and damn it was and still is good. Want to do more of TGA's stuff.

Well, Peace out,

GR

I have my THSeeds Sage n' Sour topped 2 out of 3 times and trained down. I am going to wait for the 4 tops to grow out a ways so I can grab clones when I top/prune her. Really stoked on how she is responding to the training.
