Hi Guys,

One of my digital greenhouse 1000s burned out. its 2 years old, and under full warranty. I run 2 of these in my growroom and I decided to buy another ballast today to have as a backup while my burnt one gets replaced. My reason for buying is mainly security. I liked the "square wave" technology to reduce or eliminate the RF frequency footprint. There were many factors that this ballast claims to be "better than the rest". Im real critical on gear and garden practice and would like to have many opinions regarding the ballast so I can get the most up to date experienced information possible. The details are..

Its digital and 1000 watts

Square wave to reduce frequency noise

I paid 230 and bought brand new from an authorized dealer

Can anyone provide any info,comments,reviews,etc...? I want to run an eye hortilux super hps on it too... Thanks in advance...

lol no one? Ive read some things good and bad, seen some case studies and sciences, as well as some feedback. I just need anyone running them to chime in for your opinions?

I looked at them last time I was buying a ballast but just couldn't get past the name and branding.

Worthless comment to you, I know. But I will at least bump your thread. I'm still a bit curious about them.

I really like my Nanolux ballast. It's super small, super light(really easy to hang on a wall), super quiet, and so far super reliable. It's suppose to be very efficient too. Runs about $10.00/month cheaper then my older digital ballast.

Take a look at hortilux platinum ballasts. Square wave.

Only thing I dislike is the fan (weak link)
Thanks snaps bro...Yeah, I read into the hortiux unit myself..i agree, nice piece of gear but a bit pricey...I already ordered it, it arrives Thursday. its got a total of 5 years warranty just like my digital greenhouse(s) and my lumatek(s). Not much in digital is as reliable as a good ol core and coil...but im running a lot of light and my digitals seem to save me about 20 bucks per month on each unit at 1000 watts, a little less for the 400's. But I live near an "airport" so I thoroughly review all digi's to make sure I get ballasts that are shielded real good to make sure I stay "under the radar" lol..

Ill be sure to keep you posted about all the details while I have it in service....brightness, reliability, rf footprint, etc...

hate to tell you this after buying that stupidass ballasts, Had a friend who bought a bunch of them, just like there fans, they are a pile of shit. fans go out real easy. there wall fans blades fall apart after a couple months. There is NOTHING badass about them.

hey chuck, I already saw this thread. its also 3 years old. a lot could be addressed and improved in such a time. ive seen some positive and some negative. But not much that is up to date info. and I spoke with advanced about the warranty...its a 5 year standard like some other products. My digital greenhouse's are UL listed, but one went out at 26 months, and its being replaced. thats all I really care about. my position is, I needed to keep truckin, I just flipped my lights to bloom. and I live real close to an airport runway, I really needed to worry about my rf footprint. So since advanced has been around and easy to reach, I decided to give their square wave a shot in my garden. otherwise its a hortilux. and the hortilux is really double the cost of the baddass, so we will see

True that. And you get what you pay for. Being a cheap skate often gets unsatisfactory results.
I agree whole heartedly bro...there is not much that is cheap in my system, but like I stated to chuck, 230 vs 600 bucks...and I really love hortilux bulbs, id love to have that ballast, shit maybe gavita's with double end bulbs. Im sure in due time ill see something good to get to add or replace my light systems...

especially when you can find brand new fanless multivoltage dimmable lumatek 1000's for 200 buks.

after seeing the way AN markets their million bottles of snake oil to the unsophisticated grower I don't trust anything that comes out of that camp.

dude, I feel bad for you. my last lumateks warranty ran out and im never buying from them again. they have only a couple people working there and good luck on a return for warranty. if you'd like, I can email you all the correspondence I had with them and you will easily see that yeah, lumateks may be pretty good but customer service blows and it could be months before you get your replacement. ill never own a lumatek again...
