Germinating an Autoflower seed

So I have some Northern lights Auto fems by Vision on the way. What's everyone's thoughts on which method I should use to germinate? Paper towel, cup of water? Something easier? I unsuccessfully germinated a few big bangs by paper towels and cup or water method :/ I was using RO water to germinate in both methods.

There is a very good autoflower section here at RIU. cruise thru for ideas by far the best for autos is straight to dirt, tho I confess I soak in a glass of water overnight, to speed up water absorption, and heance germ, depends on what skill you have

Aahh so with the Water and cup method should I have planted as soon as I noticed it crack open? I patiently waited for the tail to sprout out, and it never happened. I did get my power flower fem seed to germinate and grow with the paper towel method. I had two big bangs in with it and those didn't sprout. Confused lol

I always just drop mine right in dirt from the get go. I try to stick to the KISS principle as much as possible. Haven't had any problems germinating yet.

From the get go as-in no germination method? And also what is the KiSS method, sounds intriguing!
KISS - Keep it simple stupid.

Yep, from the get go meaning I drop the seed right in the dirt, add water, and watch it grow. The seeds really do know what to do all on their own. They've been doing it for a looooooooong time with no human intervention. Good luck on your grow.

So very different ...go grow some autos and you will learn the clock is running for the moment they crack, just completed a run of Short Stuff Auto #1 ,,now that sucker went to bud by the time its second laterals appeared ...let me find the add http://www.autofloweringseeds.com/short-stuff-1-autoflowering-feminised-seeds-3892 .caught me by surprise as I had intended to FIM ...photos to my blog: soon!
I'm growing a couple of autos right now. Yes, you are correct, care and needs are different when growing. As far as the "seed germination" method, it shouldn't be any different.

w/ seeds yea, RO or even (and only at this stage) distilled. Nutes hurt baby roots, gotta get their teeth before you go throwin steaks at 'em n all. I soak mine in a cup overnight, RO water, then straight into the flowing pot, pre-mixed w/ dirt/perlite/stones, Plain RO water for first few days (the dirts got all the nutes it needs for at least a week) then I start in w/ 1/4str veg nutes.... mind you, I'm on my first autoflower, so mostly, I'm talkin out my ass :) Happy growing!
