Hey guys, I was wondering how much experience you guys have with your own fertilizers, whether it be non/organic, I'll try to be more specific. Since this is my first grow, I've made mistakes and learned a lot too, but I was wondering if you guys feel like you're not doing enough for your plant? I just mean nutes for now, not optimizing your whole grow in general. I feel like I'm not giving my plants enough (obviously because I barely have any funds to work with), I dunno, I just feel like pushing my plants' boundaries, but if I do I'm afraid I'll fuck up. I like what earth juice has done so far, and I want to continue using it for my following grows. How long have you guys stuck to your nutes and what are your results and differences? I ask in case I find a better alternative, tho I doubt it :)

If I was starting over and not doing organics, I'd probably use dynagrow or jack's (which was Peter's back when I started in the Stoned age) as they are both simple, complete, quality ferts. If your plants are healthy, you're pushing them just right.

I'm just annoyed trying to find out so many facts and people's opinions, I know it all comes down to the experience, but I really want to learn the most i can asap, which is stupid of me to say, since things take time. I just wish I could absorb all this knowledge and shit but the internet is so big i keep finding myself researching everyday and it's getting to the point where i want to just start over, idk its rather overwhelming, waiting and taking care of something for so long and hoping the best for your product, the TIME. omg i need to smoke a bowl >_<

hahahaha, yeah and the interwebs is full of shitty info... you're doing great.

When I tried this the first time it was with a 150watt incandescent spotlight in a tin foil lined closet with the light going 24/0. Trust me on this much at least, you are WAY ahead of my first attempt. Of course this was pre-weed cultivation books.

I still suggest getting a real reputable weed cultivation book. Generally you aren't going to have a book tell shit like, "use pineapple juice for the last week to make um sticky!" , or "rice is a great medium", or any of the other more destructive advice I've seen.

LOL seriously dude? That's hilarious! I have Jorge Cervantes Grower's Bible, I've read each chapter multiple times, and I still 'feel' like im not doing enough for my plants. I think part of it might be since it's my first crop, I'm still getting the 'hang of things'. I don't mind constantly checking on them, I just want to see concrete buds >_< very anxious.. they're on day 34, i'll post pics later when im not lazy. I'm thinking of mainlining next crop, definitely gonna start cloning next time. I just wanna keep it basic, stick to FFOF and the earth juice. Using Air Pots next time though, I hear those things are the truth, and transplanting sucks.

lol that's funny cuz while the Cervantes book is good, back in the day I'd always have arguments about Mel Frank (my boy) vs. Cervantes. I do like the grow vids Cervantes put out. Great for a beginer and still has some good ideas for an oldster like me.

Bear with me, I killed so many seedlings because the rockwool got dry too fast or germination was too hot, and getting close to harvest is like, woah i fucked up so hard in the past its hard to believe i made it this far, so i can't help but think that I may be lacking in other areas, just gotta see what the buds turn out like! I love too much guyz.. :/

As I like to say to peeps who say they've never killed a plant: If you haven't killed a plant, you haven't been growing long enough.

I use 400 watts of LED in Tarrant county and while cop helicopters do fly in circles over my hood twice a week, i've never had any trouble.

It does jack my electricity bill up about 100 bucks extra a month though o.o

FLIR is illegal now... that doesn't mean a cop wouldn't use it and then use some other pretext to get a warrant though...

how many here have smart meters? is there a risk with only using about 500w? i'm goig to be using led, but just want to verify they dont audit light cycles on SMALL setups? or can ayone recommend a legit electrician that may know to ask? i just want to stay off the radar, i'm pretty sure my 150w led light should be fine, but just want to make sure... i'm i dfw with txu btw

does anyone know if they're auditing light cycles for SMALL setups, OR for ONLY LARGE setups?? thanks
Austin is wired with smart meters :/ If you pay promptly you're safe IMO (that's only my O :P).
^^^ This. Think about this. When was the last time you heard of anybody in your area busted from using too much electric?? The only time I've ever heard of it at least in Austin is when the electric was being stolen. 500w is NOTHING in electric use... a high powered desktop PC can use 500w or any number of larger use appliances... you should be fine as you're only running 1-2K. I've been running a little over 2 for a while now with no problems. The thing I worry more about is the 12/12 light cycle than the amount of use :) However outdoor swimming pools also use a similar amount of electric and are often on partial day timers... they have to show your use is not normal and for some other use before they can bust you. But I'm pretty sure you're not going to peak anyone's interest at under 2K.

Ultimately once I get my ranch planning on putting a substantial solar setup in to cover all or most of the electric use from my grow making me invisible from an electric use standpoint... then I can run as many 1Ks as I got panels for ;)
