Can anyone point me towards the type of drill bit I would need to make a slide holder for 14mm slides?

just measure the the out side diameter of the slide then buy a bit closest to that number.

Yeah but I've heard people say it should be tapered because the slide is angled/tapered.

think about it if you drill perfect hole size you dont have to taper the hole it just wont touch at the bottom but will hold the slide still perfect. unless ur a buisness and selling the holders on the regular, they dont have to be perfect.

Maybe do a two stage drill? As in drill with a smaller (10mm maybe) bit for the full depth, then come back with a wider one (you're 14mm or 1
and sink it half the depth.
