Flowering Height Question

Hey guys.. My lady is doing very nice, growing much more than ever and looking very lush green and nice lil buds starting to pop out all the way down the main stems and getting nice and bushy.. The only problem is that its outgrowing its area (inside barfridge)..

I started flowering at about 14" exactly 2 weeks ago and its already doubled in height and is getting much bushier.. Its too late to tie it down because there isnt enough room for it now. Im thinking about drilling a hole the size of the pot in the bottom of the fridge and then putting boards on either side and that way the plant will be able to fill out the fridge without the extra height of the pot. Im not too worried about the width of the plant, I dont think it will get much wider.

My question is, does anyone have a clue how much taller to expect this plant to get?? I know ppl say that it doubles to triples in height, but its flowering conditions have been much better than vegging.. 2 X 26 watt 2700K, 2 X 26 watt 6500K and 1 45 watt 2700K. Temp ranges from 70-82 degrees and humidity between 40%-65%. It was vegged for approx 2 months, with only 2 26 watt 6500K lights on it at the most (sometiems 1). It was stunted as well because it got burnt to shit by the lights when I wasnt home and i chopped off almost every single fan leaf. It basically didnt grow half the time it was alive, but is thriving now!!

Heres a pic taken a couple days ago.
Any ideas?

well if no more room. squeeze the main stem to bruise it. dont pinich it hard or andthing just emough to when you can make it grow sideways. thats the best option for you

? theres not enough rooom for it to grow sideways.. the width and depth of the fridge are full with the width of the plant..
anyone have an idea of how much taller it should get? Just wondering because if the height of the pot wont be enough (12inches), then I wont bother because drilling through the outer metal part on the bottom of the fridge will be a bitch, and Ill just have to move it to a different set up if its still going to be too big

All strains are different but as a general rule they have there most growth the first two weeks of flowering. The next two weeks will be half the growth of the first two weeks. So if it grew 12" the first two weeks and will grow 6" the next two weeks. They stop getting taller after the 4th week. This is a general rule and cant guarantee your plant will react this way.

awesome... so sounds like the hole idea should be alright.. now to drill through it... not going to be easy.
thanks for the input!

well from the picture it looks like a sativa and they can grow very tall so you can see anywhere form just double to 7 or 8 times its original height. I doubt it will as doesnt look like very much light is on the plant as it seems thgin and spread but it may stretch looking for light.Try the hole in the fridge and use a indica next grow they saty short and compact good luck

Thanks filthy.. Never really looked too much at diff between indica and sativa..I found this on the net.

HEIGHT

When growing indoor, we have complete control over how tall these plants get, just by how long we grow them before flowering is initiated. Artificial lights do not efficiently penetrate much more than 3 feet down into the garden, so it makes little sense to grow them much bigger than that.
After the light schedule is changed to 12 hours on and 12 hours off, flowering will begin in about 7 to 14 days. During this time the plants will continue to grow another 6 to 14 inches and then stop. How much they will grow depends on the indica/sativa ratio of the strain. Sativas will stretch the most. Depending on this ratio, flowering should be initiated at around 18 to 24 inches to achieve the end height of 36 inches. How long it will take to get this tall depends on the strain and the conditions in the garden.

JUst my 2 cents. If you could move it as easy as you can get more height in the fridge, would you just move it? I have cut the top off satavias and still gotten 6' high plants.

yeah still not sure what im going to do... Ill either have to make a new light set up in my larger cabinet (because light set up is too narrow for this plant right now), or drill the hole and hope for the best..

I have 4 female clones that have all rooted and are showing new growth.. they are in a seperate area with 18/6 timer. Going to keep a mother with one of them, and flower the other 3 very soon..

OR... I may just flower them all and am thinking about getting an indica strain for next grow.. BC God Bud looks amazing to me, anyone know the best place to get it?

got the hole drilled, made some legs to hoist up the fridge, and now its got another 14-16" to grow in height.. i can move the pot up and down by putting boards undnerneath the pot.. about 2 hours and 15 bowls later... too lazy to take pics
what you guys think?

my plants have grown at least twice their original size since turning to flower, probably best to prepare for 3x increase which is what my flowers are close to

Mmm, always allow for more than you think because if they get too high and get burnt you'll be sorry! I use the bending trick, just gently roll the stem at the level you want - you'll feel fibres breaking but don't worry! It'll just bend over at about 90 degrees now, and in about 24 hours the tops will be reorientated towards the light

im trying to picture what you are saying, but cant really.. should i wait to do this? definately dont wanna break the stems! lol
right now they have another 14 inches or so to grow vertically because of the hole i cut in the bottom..
appreciate the input, thanks guys

Heres a couple pics.. day 16 of flowering.. how is she looking??
I may hang another soft white cfl 42 watts by a rope in the center so the lower branches get good lighting

can anyone guess my yield? ( I know it wont be huge, but I think it should be decent considering it was the runt of my grow)..

oh, and are those red stems (you can see in first pic) normal?

Yeah, she's looking good dude. The stem bending thing is only if the tops get so high that you think they're gonna burn (do the hand test). Trust me, I was skeptical at first, so I tried it on one branch, and it really does work! I've had to do it to pretty much every top in my grow room and they're all just as healthy and budding as before
