Ok so ive been reading around alor lately and have a pretty good idea of what im supposed to do to grow. Im just wondering what other people might think.

I have a 2x3x6' closet space in a spare room of the house. I put a nice big fan near the ceiling blowing down on the plant and out the door into the room. Now i know using incandescent lights is the worst but I don't drive and havent been able to find HPS ballasts anywhere. I can get the bulbs though.

Since incan. create so much heat I have to keep the light like 1 1/2 ft away. At night the temp drops to about 80 but during light hours it goes up to 105 sometimes (its usually around 90 something though). The room itself isnt that bad but its under the light thats super hot. I know its bad to keep the light far from the plant but I hoped with 1 plant and 300watts it would be ok for a couple weeks.

Please let me know if theres anything you think i might be able to do differently that might help. Im going to try and find flourescent setups instead.

im fairly new at this myself too but from looking around i've noticed that flouresent lights are the cheapest source n they don't get that hott... "if u can hold ur hand an inch away from the light and it doesn't burn u then it won't burn the plant"... or something like that

yeah actually i just went out and bought flouro's. Im not sure if im gonna have enough light though. I only have 1 plant and 4 20w 2ft tubes.

i think that should work maybe like i said idk caz im new at this shit too

I assume that they are in 2-tube fixtures. Hang the fixtures side by side about 3-4 inches apart, and you'll have a 2 square foot area (2 x 1) that is lit with 80 watts. That 40 watts per square foot will allow you to grow a nice plant, although a short one. If you top her several times, or spread her out with some chicken wire (screen of green) she will grow nicely.

i went out yesterday and replaced my tubes with a few cfls, so i think im more than ok now

how much do u usually water ur plants.
When ur first starting wit seeds.

usually every 3-4 days but it depends on how the plants growing. sitck your finger in the soil about an inch. if it feels fairly moist your ok for another day or 2

the lights are your biggest problem, they wont grow weed, even if you have 10,000 watts you wont get much of anything, get some cfl's or floros if your on a budget, otherwise buy an hps off the net
