By Passing the Electricity Meter?

Ya bud sounds to me like this issue is the estimated billing and your consumption of power in your other devices. If they read your meter then billed the shit out of you and you only have a 250W and some fans then you are sucking power like a beast in other areas. Just buy CFL's for your household lamps (not growing lol) and make sure to conserve power by turning off all things not in use. Bypassing a meter is silly even if you are capable. The PC alone I am on is using a 550W PSU

yeah its not going to go up enough to really draw any attention, so unless you just want to save money at the expense of your grow I wouldn't worry about it just pay the bill.

Sounds like good advice my Friend, you should take it. If you got done for by-passing the meter, chances are you'd find it difficult to get sparky work again. Make sure your GF understands just what you are consuming compared with a pc, get your 400W in and provided you save 28/mth on your weed budget, your breaking even. Good luck with it all

They will know someone is stealing electricity. Though you may feel it would be hard for them to narrow it down to you out of a group of homes do you really think they are just going to drop it knowing they are being ripped off? They will do what they have to in order to find the cause of it.

Sounds like a great way to draw big time attention and get yourself busted in my opinion.

i too am a sparky in the states tho and the way they find that someone is swiping power is that each grid is broken into sections and each section is metered they then add up all the meters in a section and compare it to what the whole sections meter is when the 2 numbers dont add up they start looking for where the power is being bled off too by amp clamping your primaries at the transformer with an emon demon and compare that to your meter ... when the 2 dont match your busted ... it may take them a few months to find you but since they will assume its power leaking to ground as a safety issue they willl hunt until they find it

in my opinion its just not worth getting busted for your grow op
try to save energy in other places and get as many plants under that light as it will support with healthy results no sense wasting lumens when 1 plant gets you as much trouble as 8

Thanks for the advice people! Will prob get capped rates, so it dont really matter what I consume! Hey Canadiangreen I may be an IDIOT and no I dont really want to get CAUGHT. Will be borrowing a 400 watter from work tommorow then! Anyways I'm off to smoke a fat one!

Yeah thats right, an electrician that works in a power station! I dont deal with domestic work, I just help to produce the big Mega Watts! The big boy stuff! So I dont really deal with the consumer piddly Kw side of it.....
