Can you still smoke the male buds? I know it's better to make hash, oil etc. but is a male plant smokable?

You can smoke it, but you may as well be smoking dried lawn clippings really.
You'd need to smoke a shit load to get stoned. It would be like smoking hemp crops (which legally have to have less than 0.3% THC).
Males don't really produce any THC (they do a tiny bit, but barely), THC is produced in the resin glands of the female plant which is sticky because it's designed to 'catch' male pollen so it's pollinated and can produce seeds (the natural life-cycle)

But you can, technically smoke a male plant haha
