im comming towards the end of my first grow. im at 7 weeks flowering. i think that a few of the plants are going to be ready soon, but i dont have a magnifier to look at the trichomes. is there any way judging by eye that i can get a matured stony harvest ( i would like to harvest when the trichomes are mostly cloudy.) any response would be great!

It's something you can grasp only through time and experience. If you're not gonna invest 12 bux into a RadioShack scope, I suggest waiting until a month after you think they're ready . . . then they should be closer/stronger and well able to provide this matured, stony buzz you describe.
Worst case scenario (by waiting) the weed's too strong for you.

There is no reason not to have a microscope. A small hand held one is $10 from Radio Shack. To be honest... it's cool as hell to look at the leaves under the scope. My plants are still weeks away from harvest but I use the scope on them weekly to check the leaves for any infestation and just to look at the developing resin.

Every grower should have a microscope... $10 is totally reasonable.

I agree with ya. If your gonna grow get the proper tools.

Spend the ten bucks!! Best tool I've got!! I ALWAYS harvested too soon until I got a scope,you need this tool!!
