Replicating the Aquamist I system...

I too would like to know what they're using. So far i'm aiming at building my own Ebb & Flow system for around $150 instead of the $500+ systems i've seen. It's really not that hard, unless your time is really worth that much money :)

I found some used Aquamist systems on craigslist lately, for incredibly cheap. I would keep my eye on there for parts or even a complete system if you're on a budget!

for the tops of the system you could use plastic sheeting for that is used in showers. If it's weak maybe glue 2 together. But I think that would make a good top and easy enough to drill the holes for net pots

what kind of misters do they use, that's where I am stumped. I've got everthing figured out to that. I know the misters at home depot really suck (from experience) as well as most rubbermaid tubs. I haven't found the misters anywhere. Some help?

Where did this thread go? I would love to see the AquaMist System picked apart pice by pice so I can replicate that wonderful system. See More Buds was a great DVD.

I like stinks system better for many too reasons....

how bout a 4 x 8 with sealed plywood lid and many holes drilled for netpots and 1/4" holes with 6o cent mister/sprinklers........root area drains to little res w pump for misters. Much cheaper/easier than the ams imho.
Fuck how bout a aeroponic bucket system? Seperate root chambers!
cheers

Great thread! Ive been trying to order three aquamist sytems for a couple weeks now. I still have not heard back from the company. Wow! must be really busy down there or just some bad managing haha Ive decided theses are the systems I would like to use so im gonna have to build them myself. If you could help me out with a couple questions that would be great! 1. You said they use three antelco sprayers. Can you provide me with a part number or model? 2. Did you have any luck locating the tubs elsewhere or something equivalent?

thanks!

I have noticed many users on this site are very interested in the Aquamist 1 system, but are simply turned off by the price tag. Well I may have a solutition for you. I have some great contacts in the wholesale industry which has given me the ability to duplicate the system. The system I can produce is 2x6 which is 50 larger than the aquamist system. The components are equal or greater in quality, and the price tag is the same! Just thought I would make the offer and see if it helps. Let me know if its something you are interested in. I would be glad to help you save some money.

amazing to say the least!!!

So, did someone get an Aquamist system and analyze the parts? What do they use? I'd like to build one myself.

Edit:

I don't know why no one has found find out what parts they use and have not listed them here by now.

I calculated the volume of a container with those dimensions and there is no way it's only 20 gallon capacity. 24"x46"x12" = 13,248 cubic inches x 0.00433 gal = 57.4 gal, not 20. Aquamist says 20 gallon "capacity." Is capacity not the same as volume? So, I'm looking for a 55-60 gal tote about 12" tall which is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Someone please find out where I can get a reservoir approximately 2'x4'x1' in size...

The closest thing to it is this $107, 55 gal reservoir from EmeraldElectronic.com >> http://www.emeraldelectronic.com/store/proddetail.cfm/ItemID/588880/CategoryID/20000/SubCatID/1996/file.htm

may have something to do with a year old thread, comprised of "growers" who had like 16-17 posts.. a year ago. Likely not on here anymore to post the info if they have it.

DONT BUY HOME DEPOT SPRAYERS!!! Go to your local hydro store and if they dont have the EZ cloner replacements they can order them for about $.50. And bdc 200gph pump should cost $20 at a hydro store, the ones in Home Depot are made for fountains. If flowering in a home-made aero system I highly suggest doing a separate res. cuz its a pain in the ass changing that shit and its hard to get the PH right without tipping to stir and making all of your plants fall over. We made a nice little all in one stack system using one of the short Rubbermaids that are about six inches high (forgot the gal want to say 8 ) and set it into the 18 gal bucket and put the pump in the bottom bin. Put a few holes in the bottom of the smaller bin and run PVC from pump up into the top bucket where you have your sprayers. If you dont want to cut PVC there is also black plastic in the garden section used for gardening. I purchased another 18 gal for simplicity in res changes. I make up the water lift it from one 18gal to the other, simple as that.
