I was given these plants to take care of so i dont know how far along any of them are...i was told the one on the left was maui and the one on the right was northern lights (avatar pic) any thoughts?

these are my biggest girls...i just found out that i accident put the maui back into veggie stage when i switched light to a metal halide.. My HPS burnt out and i used the halide for the "meantime" you know how expensive those bulbs are...well in that week or so it changed the stages on more then maui...but now i have a HPS back in, will all those new bud spots that grew out the tops of my colas bud normally also, or will it be 2 far behind...

Switching the light from HPS to MH should not have had any revegging effects on your plants as long you kept the 12/12 light cycle the same.

yeah the new growth is because actually on a good amount of plants that the flowering phase grows 2/3rds of the entire growth size of the plant. some strains are different than others.

just cuz she's in flower doesn't mean she stops growing completely. and if i recall most stop growing new shit twards the end of thier flowering cycle. funny thing about plants, they know when to die. i wish thier was some way of flowering a plant forever and getting kick ass fucking watermellon buds. bud sadly the plant puts all it's energy into flowering and will plan to die and stops all new growth. that is why you have to take a microscope or magnifying glass and look to see when the trichs are hazy red more red than hazy. if they are clear then you got a while before cutting them. otherwise this is one of the aging signs of the plant. letting the grower now when the plant itself is ready to start to die, and then you kill it prematurely and smoke that mother fucker down. if you had a microscope then the trichs would almost look like upside down watter droplets about to fall (ball on the end of a clear hair).

oh and the reason why mothers stay alive longer is cuz they are in a veg cycle and do not flower.

oh and that other dud is right, doesn't matter what light you use, they are in 12/12 then they are flowering. now the hps is better since plants absorb more red than blue in flower (ie bigger buds) but the mh isn't going to reveg it (just not as good buds). and if you want to get technical both lights cover the others spectrum, they just don't focus at that spectrum (ie hps does have some blues but it focuses 10 times or 20 times more reds, and vise-a-versa)

no ya rambling helps, thanx alot for the imput...this is my first grow and i didnt even have the chance 2 start from da beginning...i mean, i skipped the slow part of the grow but i also missed out on alot that i should and would have learned...since maui is poppin seeds out like brittany spears, im going to have more chances to start from the beginning of the grow...then the end product will be totally my own ya know...n since im a heavy smoker, that is wut matters 2 me...have the boys come over n get all fucked up on da shit i grew, makes ya proud...

these girls were never topped...i have another girl only acouple weeks into flowering, should i top it now or let it be....same northern strain...the one on the right in my avatar pic..

No don't prune that late...always top while still in veg stage.
