I am just finishing up with my first indoor grow. I grew white widow and rhino from greenhouse seeds, big bud from homegrown fantaseeds, and jock horror from nirvana. Some of the widow and rhinos were totally loaded with trichomes, but some weren't. These strains didn't seem very stabilized. The highest yeilders had the lowest trich production and the lower yeilders had the most trichomes. The big bud I won't mess with again because the buds aren't nearly as good as the white strains, but the yeild isn't much better. The jock horror is really nice looking, but a little taller than i would like. I dont know how the jock will smoke cause i havent chopped one yet.

Anyway, now I am trying to decide what strains to work with next. I want plants that will stay somewhat short, have really good trichome production, and produce at least an ounce per plant with six or eight plants under a 400 watt hps after 4 weeks of veg. I want dense, pretty buds with a decent taste and not too much leaf. Also, dealing with the smell was a big problem with my first grow (I rent the lower half of a duplex) so less odor is better but not manditory. I am leaning toward blueberry or a some white strain I haven't grown yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

violater kush feminised. just ordered white rhino from gh, 5 pack fem, did you find any keepers amongst your rhinos. i was hoping they would remain uniform, how big a variation where the rhinos???? major plus rep if you can give me an honest opinion on these babys. any tips???

there seemed to be two different phenos of the rhino. both had broad, indica looking leaves and looked about the same in veg, but flowered differently. one gave me a really good yeild with colas about the same size as the big bud that i was growing with it. but the high yeilding pheno didn't have anywhere near the resin production as the low yeilding plants. those ones were really really sticky. These might not be distinct phenos and there also could be more phenos. I only grew out a five pack of fems so i dont really know. They all matured at different rates. The last one to finish flowering is at about eleven weeks on 12/12 and i'll probably still give it a few days. All of the rhino got a little bit nute burned and the temps were also pretty high at the end of flowering, but the plants still turned out ok. I'm sure they would have turned out better if I was a more experienced grower though. To tell you the truth, i couldn't really tell the difference between the widow and rhino. The widow seemed to have two phenos (plus a third, leafier one) that were a lot like the two rhino phenos. There was one rhino in particular that I really wish I had cloned. It was the heaviest of the three really resinous plants and gave me the nicest looking buds of them all. I wish I could be more helpful. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

That's a really nice looking plant in the pic. Do you have to drop the temp to get the purple and blue hues or does it do it on it's own?

thanks croatalus, major rep, im doing my first grow soon, just making sure my grow conditions are optimal and waiting on a few bits and bobs before i get started. will be using 400hps like yourself with 4 white rhinos femm. heard great things about the rhino for scrogging, might be a pain if they are not very uniform but there are ways around it. what was your germination rate like buddy??. have you any pics of your setup?? + rep

its was a toss up for me between white rhino femm gh, nycd femm soma, violater kush femm and the cheese ( decided to leave the cheese untill i either get the uk clone or untill somone nails it in seed form ).

the violater kush looks like a good one for once i nail these rhino bitches.
