are these meters really necessary? Honestly, you don't need to know PH unless your adding weird shit.

Im and noob and could be wrong but...im pretty sure ph is very important.

You are so very WRONG!!! PH is Extremely important.

EC/TDS/PPM isnt nessecary to use unless you want too.

PH is VITAL!!!


To the original Poster, yes that is a great constant monitering monitor it isnt a meter though and it runs contantly with floating PH and EC testers....

They sell BRAND NEW FOR $249.99.

if your adding water and only water then ph shouldn't be an issue. It isn't an issue for me.

Just the FF nutes drop my pH from 7.1 (tap) down to about 4.8

But you are right. The plant will still grow. Like tomatoes. They grow, but with the best care they make bigger and more fruit.

WRONG! PH is EXTREMELY important. If the PH is out of range then nutrients get locked out of the plant. My PH right out of the tap (with nothing added) is 7 - 7.5.... this is pretty much death to a hydro growing plant.

There is a difference between soil and hydro. Plants grown in soil tolerate a higher PH level then plants grown hydroponically.

PH meters are very important! Even if you get the PH adjusted.... you have to keep monitoring it as PH will drift over time.

I have a continuous read PH / PPM meter that also reads the res. temp. This meter has been invaluable to the improvement of my plants... I'd be lost without it.

you could have hard / soft water in your area you fool.

i think most people would invest in a cheap ph meter to allow them to use nutes and not get weak ass small crops like you.
