just so you know, and i have never used one but i have seen them for sale. you can get a pollen collector. not exactly sure how it works but i see pics of the end result and looks like the guys get ounces of pollen off the plants using these things.

if i recall i think they were a bit pricey, but i don't remember the price.

the two root system is an okay idea. thing that can backfire about it is that if the two roots only grow to 50%. then it wouldn't be much of a difference except that it had two roots. but another problem is that you would have to kill whatever plant you take the cutting from (probably) since you have to cut the stem and not just the branch like on a normal clone.

but the basic hope is that with two roots each will grow at least 75% of thier potential giving the plant 150% roots, 50% more than it had before. 2 roots at 75% potential is better than 1 root at 100% potential. ya know?

i will start a grow journal soon, i am waiting on some seeds i ordered.

here's another stupid skeevy stoner idea. i know this one is way out there the concept is intelligiable, but the idea is probably stupid. throught time and the life of plants i guarentee that at least one bug died in the pistol while in the middle of pollenation. so the idea is to put a dead bee or something inside the pistol while pollenating it and then see what the seeds do that come from that pistol. they might have some wierd dna to them since they had a dead bee inside the pistol when it was pollenated.

another stupid stoner idea, but i was just trying to think of how to fuck with the plant the same way the world and mother nature fucks with the plants. and like i said, it doesn't happen everyday. but now and then i guarentee a bug dies mid pollenating.

By the way, my clones were actually taken from the main stem. I cut the tip off the plant and used that as my first clone! Then I cut another two inches off the main stem and used that as my second clone! Then I cut another two inches off the main stem and used that as my third clone! Bwahaha. Hopefully the father plant will grow side branches.

Thats the same system I use but I use two liter bottles cut in half. I so far have 100% sucess

What do you think about the size of my leaves? Are they took big? Should I spray the leaves with moisturee?

i clone males if im trying to keep the genetics of a paticular male around so the plant doesn't overgrow its container, get rootbound or block the light of the females in the same veg area. i grow them to about 6 nodes, clone the main growth tip and the heftiest looking branch (in case for some reason i lose a clone i have a back up) then when they both root, or one roots first, i keep the most robust rooted cutting...then the process starts again until i need those paticular genes for an experiment. then i flower it when it is still compact and take the pollen when it develops. plus this way the pre-flowers dont grow out much and i dont risk getting a busted pollen sac on my nice veging females.

Interesting. How do you harvest the pollen? How far away / where do you keep the male clones with respect to the female plants? Do you go from handling the males, straight to handling the females, or do you need to wash your hands first, etc?

there are numerous ways to harvest the pollen...i use a small glass jelly jar and a paintbrush (no synthetic hairs) to collect the pollen...i dont usually store it very long if at all because i dont flower my males until i need the pollen then time itout so that around the 2-3 week mark of flowering the females i have ready pollen to dust a few braches w/. during veg i keep my males and females side by side, but before moving any females from the room everything gets a mist down. usually i dont have any problems with transfer of pollen or accidental pollination....regular wipedown with a weak cleaning solution. i also designate clothes to wear around flowering males (flowering males should have there own growing space away from any female plants) as this can cross pollinate entire crops if you accidently rub your girls wearing the same clothes or not scrubbing up a little (pollen will attach to arm hairs skin anything)
