What ph testers do you guys use? And what is the deal with the ones that you have to calibrate? That seems like a major pita. My friend asked me which one to get and I told him I was not sure. But I told him there was a place where I could find out.

hanna's ph/ppm/temp, works like a champ. you can calibrate them to make sure they are still right on.

to calibrate it you need the solutions of ph/ppm, and you need the cleaning/storage solutions, yea it sucks that you really do need those and they are a bit pricey, but you only need to check it once a month or so and you use very little solution. to calibrate you push two buttons i think then it will tell you to dip it into the ph7 solution and when it reads that one it will ask for the other ph 4 solution its a two point calibration, and when it recognizes the second solution, calibration is complete, sounds complicated but it really isn't and it is well worth the m oney.

Thanks man do you think if he was going to spend that much do you think it would be best to just get one of these?

and i dont know how much that would cost but im gonna guess more then hes trying to spend which is 150$

the pen is about 100 in a hydro store so less online im assuming, and the solutions were about 15 a piece in the hydro store so about 150 would be right if he can find a deal online. and as far as calibrating it i would rather be able to than not.
