Default PPM question in regards to tap.

Little confused on how to get an accurate read on my ppm. I am using foxfarm nutes, i am also using a bluelab tds wand(really good one) and going by the ec x 700 ppm b/c that is what f farm suggests to use with their products. Anyhow, I am struggling with the ppm this entire grow, and today i tested my treated pure water's ppm it read 560 on the ec x 700 ppm. So basically my water is already at a 560ppm before any nutes are added. the run off ppm read 980ppm, so naturally do i subtract the number of the water pure from the runoff ppm to get a more adequate read? JUST really confused. And really would like to get a hold of my ppm I mean i guess i could go to RO water but that gets expensive and to be a burden constantly going to get. thats a pic of my test stick below maybe someone uses the same one.

Sounds like you need better water. If you use Tap, let it sit in a open container for 24 hours. This gets rid of chorine and other harmful chemicals in the water, which should lower the ppm of your tap water.

yeah I went ahead and filled a reservoir with RO water, it holds 18 gallons and i just put an air bubble stone in it. that way i will be able to store the water right, and RO water is so much easier to work with when it comes to nutes Thanks for the reply
