iam new at this and my 2 plants are only maybe 3-5 inches high and i was wondering if they turn out to be males, was growing them a complete waste of time? and what are the uses of males?

I think the general thought is growing males is a waste of time. Especially if you are only growing two plants. You are better of just starting new and hope for females.

You could dry them out and use them for filler instead of using tobacco, or if you really want, grow them out and use them for hash.
