Exclamation Are autoflowering (C. Ruderalis) plants really as good as people make them out to be?

I don't know why, but I have this kind of natural grudge against autoflowering plants. They seem kind of fake and not worth it. I mean it's a cannabis ruderalis plant (that makes very little to no THC or CBDs on it's own) crossed with C. Sativa and C. Indica plants (or hybrids) to make these autoflowering little bud producing plants. I see all these mixed feelings about it, some saying they're junk, while others love them. I don't really see any advantage to them other than being able to use almost any light schedule that gives around 12+ hours of light a day from sprout to harvest. Why not just flower a true plant (when I say true I mean not crossed with ruderalis) early if you want an early producing plant?

haven't tried smoking any but I like the idea of autoflowering because, say you would like to do an outdoor grow. you make a shit load of seeds with the 10 that you bought. then you could start them in April - May and they would finish in 8-10 weeks, show sex in 20 days and put them out in pretty much any type of crop in a farmers field and beat the copters. eg. put them in soybean, usually a non auto flowering strain would not be able to go into that field because the soybean turns brown late august and harvested sometime september. Small plants, low yield but you just have to start a whole bunch.
Thats why I like em. also a early harvest to smoke some of your bud before your non auto strains even start budding.

i have never tried them but i think it is cool to work with ruderalis for a number of reasons.

first - just cause ruderalis is low in THC does not mean the hybrid will be and as you perfect the strain - the THC content should be comparable with most strains.
second - outdoor growers have a chance for both an early and late harvest as well as their regular crop. can't see how more bud can be a bad thing.
third - ruderalis is short and hardy - very good for indoors, stealthy spaces and first time growers (or experienced growers with less-than-ideal conditions).
fourth - experimentation is what brought us all these other wonderful strains and some varities so i say have at it.

Lowryder rocks! Great yield, short grow, and awesome smoke! If you grow them right you will not be disappointed.
