I've been looking into getting a new light setup. I've been noticing that digital has a lot of upsides compared to magnetic ballasts. On htg the 600w digi is only a bit more than the 400w magnetic. Are there any downsides to digi, or is digital the way to go. Any experiences/comments are welcome and appreciated.

im in the same boat your in. I want a digi ballast but i dont know if the benifits outweight the cost.

Well I have the 600w digital ballast from HTG Supply. So far is awesome. Digital ballasts are cool to the touch, start faster, and use slightly less electricity while putting out slightly more lumens through the bulb. I also understand that they don't cause the light to dim over time like magnetic ballasts. I have to wait to tell for sure on that one as mine is fairly new. In my opinion I would definitely choose a digital ballast over a magnetic one.
