Default root bound wtf
my plants are only 14 days old. leaves beginning to curl and yellow. so I decided to remove the root ball and they are root bound. they're in 16 oz cups. what the fuck. I only wanted to do sog in 2 gallon pots but if roots are growing this fast I might as well throw the towel in. please give me advice.

Your 16 oz cup is not full of soil.

pictures would be helpful but strong roots is a good thing. The plants are probaly small from stunting due to them being rootbound, I've heard some plants don't make it due to shock. The reason your roots are growing so fast is because they are in a small container and the roots are sucking up that moisture very quickly. and smaller containers dry out quicker in general. As the medium becomes dry it encourages the root to develop more to search for water, and this is exactly what you want...just transplant them and keep an eye on em they should start perkin back up.

I agree!

The only "problem" here is plant type. You may have chosen a type that can't really grow in 2 gallons of soil. If it is an indica you will be fine. If it is a sativa you may need to start over.

You are joking right? Please tell me you are joking. It doesn't matter if it is a Sativa or Indica. The plant will conform to it's pot size. It will get as big as it's rootball will allow. I have grown Indica and Sativa in 1.6 gallon pots. They were all healthy and fine.

14 days is about right for transplanting out of starter cups. If the rootball is really tight just loosen it up a little with your fingers as you move it to the new larger pot. Use a drop or two of superthrive in some water and lightly water the new pot after you get the plant into it. Raise your lights up a little for a few days to help with the shock, and then you should be fine.

Do not listen to mockingbird.

I have tried to grow sativa in a smaller pot and was NOT able to get it to bud properly. Perhaps it was a seed varitety thing.
