the utube video of it I saw looked pretty awesome It would be easy for them to dim one ballast or overdrive another though. I'm curious as to how it compares to your other digitals.
we will know soon, after I get done work tonight. Just checked tracking and ill have it in about 3 hours :) im on my dark period at the moment, so I cant install it until around midnight tonight..

I have all my ballasts on a 4 port 240 volt power supply hub with trigger cable. so right off the bat, ill be able to compare startup between my digital greenhouse 1000 and the baddass 1000. the lumatek is a 400, so really cant compare to that since the wattage is completely different. I cant wait till tonight :)

what? i'm not a hater???!

I'm just saying you don't need 51 bottles of shit to grow great plants LOL :)

it's cool though
It's not that, and I agree.
I only use 3 of the 500 bottles AN produces.

It's the fact that everyone calls it snake oils or rabbit shit, etc.
I honestly just think it's due to the fact that AN has money to splurge on marketing and other companies don't?
Think about it, I buy Minute Maid and Tropicana OJ. I haven't seen a MM commercial in a long time now to think of it, yet Tropicana has so much marketing its everywhere you go.
I tend to buy Minute Maid a lot more than Tropicana when I'm out (The little school milk box looking OJ containers of Minute Maid) when I'm in the house I buy the big Tropicanas.
I prefer Tropicana personally, but Minute maid is good shit too, especially for the price.

Ok, just came. Here are detailed pics. I love the fact they included BOTH power cables, a 120 and 240 volts. Ill be installing it on my blueprint HUB-4 240 volt power ballast supply box. This box is pretty awesome. I ran my digi's on it last crop and want to say my power bill was a little cheaper. But anyway, I will do a comparison tonight, I will ignite all my ballasts at the same time (by activating the hub) and will be able to report how well it starts up, brightness, runs cool or not cool, noisy or not noisy, rf transmission etc...but here are the pics of the ballast

yeah, i don't think so. most of the other companies have been in business for a long time. . it has more to do with their shameless marketing strategy taking advantage of the unsophisticated grower. That's why I don't trust em. i'm not saying some of their products don't work. For petes sake you can grow a cannabis plant in cow shit.

I bought 3 of their "BadAss Blades" fans 1 year ago and after they all broke in under a month I would never buy anything from this company again. I have not tried their ballasts so I cannot speak for those but if their fans are any indication of the rest of their products I would expect them to be not very "BadAss"

ok here are the initial results and a few pics :) First, the initial startup was WAY faster than my Lumatek and my Digital Greenhouse. I don't have a light meter yet but it appears to be a bit brighter BUT more important, the light looks like its burning "cleaner" than my digital greenhouse ballast. Both bulbs are eye hortilux super hps purchased and used at the exact same time. So the bulbs are an exact match at purchase and of usage. I love hortilux super HPS bulbs, and it looks like its running great on the baddass.

As far as ballast operating temperature the badass is a bit warm. Its putting out the same amount of heat as my lumatek 400. My digital greenhouse remains the champ! Its very cool, very limited heat :

The dimming feature works well and u can tell..you turn the knob and a second later u hear the microprocessor do a gentle switch of the power output.

I really like the fact that the ballast came with both 120 volt and 240 volt cords. Only few companies offer that. If you are me and running 240 volt, you gotta go spend more money and buy a cable lol.. so its cool it came with both.

all in all good so far but the real deal is how far will she run and how is the replacement process? Lol Im quite sure after a bout with Lumatek I have better hopes of getting a more professional process from almost anywhere else. Sorry guys, I have a lumatek and its my last one. They are great no doubt, but their service is terrible. And digital greenhouse's has an easy no bull replacement process through the seller. And, you cant deny hard side by side results...My digital greenhouse is a 1000 watt and runs way cooler than my lumatek 400. and its UL Listed also...

That's that and here are the pics, enjoy.

thank you very much bro, means a lot coming from someone in cali...without you guys, we wouldn't be where we are today ;)

..and of course the peeps in Holland too..

I m very adamant on running a very clean room, I strive for perfection as best I can. my father always taught me never do anything "half-ass" lol. he was very strict about that growing up. I keep that same philosophy while at work too.

+rep to you bro, I work with a cali native, he was actually 2nd place world surfing champion in the 80's, and he is cool as hell:) But really props to cali farmers who gave us such great kush varieties :)

I think I remember someone advising someone to buy an Apollo in this thread, if that is true... DO NOT BUY AN APOLLO THAT IS WHY THEY ARE DIRT CHEAP THEIR FUSES ARE OLD AND USED AND MOST OF THEIR PARTS ARE RECYCLED Go with Ipower People can debate all they want that both come from the same factory. I have gotten so many Ipower over the years and all of them work till this day, and not only that, but the warranty they come with is one of the best. It can be extended if you contact them, you can return your old model unit in for a new unit, no charge. You can get replacement items from them with no proof you had these items (Takes good social engineering) They are just a better overall company, have fun trying to send back an Apollo.

right on bro. I think the message to take is when shopping for a ballast, one must really evaluate many factors.

1. RF footprint. You don't want your ballasts to announce to anyone that you are growing. So get a quality one that is shielded well or go LF Square Wave
2. A UL Labs listing constitutes a safer electrical device
3. Heat Output. for those who have to mount ballasts In the grow space, this is a concern to your grow space environment
4. Ease of replacement. This is the biggest factor IMO because if the ballast goes down during the warranty period, you don't want to have a difficult time getting it repaired or replaced

So far, the Digital Greenhouse 1000 is the coolest, most stable digtal ballast Ive ever run...and is the easiest to replace. Took one phone call. That easy. (Someone hit their Staples Easy Button please lol)

just an update everyone :) So far so good. That baddass ballast is running great. still starts up 2 to 3 times faster than the lumatek or digital greenhouse and still burns cleaner light. I installed small fans on the baddass and lumatek to further cool the ballast and heatsinks to take some stress off the ballasts and keep my temps steadier. But so far, operating as instructed safely and on a 240 volt hub, i can only say it really does kick ass. If the heatsink fan is a known issue, then i will probably include it on my weekly maintenance to clean, lubricate, and inspect it for wear. Otherwise, im still killin it still in my garden :)

I'm glad it's working out for you, I have never ran a badass ballast by what I seen using there bulbs once when I was changing out my hortilux redeye bulbs when my local grow store was out of them. they told me bassass was the new awesome thing, so I tried them and they suck ass. from that I would never have anything to do with there ballast.
