So im a new grower about to go into flowing stage in about 10 days. I actually had a few questions. First of all, I just bought a 400 w MH and i wanted to know the disadvantages/advantages that come with flowing with one. I can't really afford a HPS with more red color right? Anyways, my other question was about SCROG methodology. Do my colas or I guess at this state new sprouts need to be at the same level going into flowering? I have like 4 different strains growing at dif. Heights. Any input helps- Thanks

If you can its best to have similar heights to allow even light penetration.If you had to buy an mh or hps getting the hps is better choice as you can always buy an mh conversionn bulb for like 80 bucks that allows you to put that bulb in the hps ballast and get the mh light so only need 1 ballast and the hps is much better to bud.You can always veg with floro shop lights since the veg isnt as important as the flowering stage which needs the red spectrum more to produce higher yeilds you can use the mh but you waste alot of used light to the plant and in scrog or sog you veg for a short time and get short plants so the hps is much more useful.

Blunted, you want an even canopy. You can flower with yout mh light just fine, potency will be better than with a hps but your yeild will suffer slightly.

Thanks for your help, I think I will start topping some of my plants and their shoots, I just put the plants into a hard veg cycle befofe 1st week of flowering- the other should catch the top- aero-gardens kick ass- amazing growth, no time at all. L8tr
