hey so i'm currently doing my first grow, just one plant in DWC under 800 watts (400 MH, 400 HPS)...It's in its 3rd week of flowering right now and am having some issues with the pH, EC, and water levels in the container. The water levels decrease very quickly which causes the EC to constantly change. How do people keep the EC steady in a DWC? Also, the pH changes drastically daily. I try to keep the pH at 5.5 to model how Arjan from Greenhouse grew the strain, The Church, in his video on youtube and by the next morning it will rise up to 6.2. Any suggestions as to how keep things steady in my DWC? Especially since I want to start legit SOG setup soon using DWC.....

I can,

Alot of people that use DWC also use a seperate attached rez to the bucket so there is three of four times the water, this helps drastically with PH and EC changes.

As the plant drinks water, gravity keeps the level of both the rez and the bucket uniform.

The fatc that your plant is drinking so much water, IS GREAT!!!

You must have a ridicuolous healthy plant there, and with that much light I am sure she is loving growing for you!!!

No worries mate, just do you best to stay on top of her until next go around and you can add a rez to your DWC system!!!

hey ganjagoddess thanks a lot for responding! how do i actually go about hooking up the reservoir system to the DWC? I've heard about this setup but don't get how gravity fills the water back to perfect level...thanks

Well you would need to use a clever way to create a tube system between the two located at the very bottoms of both buckets.

Use 1/2 i.d. tubing, from the irrigation section of homedepot. but you need a way to hook the tubing to each bucket which homedept makes very hard, but with a little engineering I figured it out.

Maybe if I have time I'll throw a picture up of some seals with on/off valves I have made.

As for the gravity part, its simple.

You fill the resovoir to the height you want your bucket to stay, the two buckets will level out with out each.

You cann even add on to this system and install a float valve in the rez, and put a refiller bucket on top of the rez and when it drops the filler refills it leveling everything out.
