Bud time dif between "real" lights and flueros?

There must be a difference in the length of time it take budz to fully mature under "real" lights as compared to cfl's and even general shop lights. Anyone care to enlighten me on this, please, generally speaking. Thanks.

Provided the light is capable of producing buds, I don't think it is the length of time to bud (pre-determined) so much as the difference in quality and quantity of same.

exactly the strain of plant will determin the legth of time in flowering...but using a cfl or shop light will give you alot less product in the end compared to HIDs

So there is no "add two-weeks" or "subtract 2 weeks" kinda rule. Great. Thanks for the input. I didn't think so, but have read somewhere that the cfl/fluero grow needed a bit more time, which sorta makes sense. I mean, like the delayed harvest of a tomato plant grown in a less sunny spot. Time to blister up my thumb snipping!

I should mention that the vegetative time can be faster using HIDs (especially with a hydro system) so you can shave time off in the beginning.

my understanding (from what I've read here & elsewhere) is that you should expect to increase your flowering time approx. two weeks using CFLs (as opposed to HID systems)

in the end, let the trichomes guide you.

Ditto . . . and on the trichs, I bought one of those mini-micros @RadShack last night . . . a real piece of SH*T. Don't waste your money, folks. Pain in the a*s to use and requires you mangle your trich-heads to see anything.

Finally - someone who agrees those microscopes aren't very good! I had to cut a leaf to see what the hell was going on. I find a 30x loupe does the trick for trichs.

I also picked up one of those huge 10x magnifiers - very cool and fun for looking at a variety of stuff!

100X . . . can you see the trichs easily w/that? I've a 30X loupe, but can't see the all important magical footballs w/that. Could be my eyes. Not very good anymore.
