the 100x was very difficult to hold steady. The only way i could see anything was by cutting a leaf and laying it flat.
My vision is also terrible but i can see the change in trichomes with a 30x loupe. Not the details but you can see an overall change as they mature. if you want to actually see the gland heads, I think you'd need at least a 60x - but that is just my opinion - i haven't done any magnification tests.
The big 10x is excellent for just checking out the details of the plant (sexing, checking for pests, etc..) and it is useful for looking at other stuff too (like the directions on nute bottles - can they print them any smaller)?!?!
