..I don't want to get into a flamefest on this, however I use the clone-a-clone method and I also use the mother plant method (back-up!!!) - both produce exactly the same results with appropriate levels of care. In my case, both were started in similar fashion( approx 15 were started, picked best, rest grew out), one went into soil, 1 into hydro. This is a few years ago now and @times the mother has been a problem - re-potting has to be done, eventually(rootmass gets to much) etc etc, the usual problems associated with soilzez!! However, the good is, when mother is in good 'nic(condition for U non-Aussies

), clones of exact same vintage/variety are ready to be, err cloned!! With the clone-to-clone method, @times, no matter how good 1 is, you can be out of sync by a few days(too good a harvest?) and clones may be of questionable quality/vintage...
I don't profess 1 method over another - both have pro/cons...evaluate your needs/capabilities(keeping mummy well/time to tend clones) and go with that...GL!!!!!
