| | First Time Grower ::Needs Help:: | | Hey - I'm a first-time inside-the-closet grower...Planted some regular dank seeds in an old foot and a half wide pot with regular dirt from outside; the seeds germinated (three of them) and sprouted but it drained horribly and the dirt was clumped together so I transferred the seedlings to a potting soil/dirt mix in the same type pot which now drains fine. I've watered them plenty, so they shouldn't be too dry. The seedlings are about 6" apart and underneath a 60watt Sylvania Spot-Gro light blub and there are two 21" 15-watt fluorescents on either side of the pot. The temerature is fairly consistent (70-80 degrees) and the walls are white so I'm pretty sure they're getting enough light. (I don't have pictures yet but should soon.) Anyways, the bottom leaves on each plant turned yellow and wilted downwards, and the next tier of leaves seems to be following suit. What should I do? |

| | I've got 3 plants, about 3-4 weeks old (since planting the seeds), tallest is 3-4" and they're all looking much better now...are 2 15-watt fluorescents and a 60-watt sylvania spot-gro light enough? (Fluorescents are within 6" of plants and spot-gro light is about 1 and 1/2 feet above) |

| | first off the incandesent bulb arnt really gonna help much, you should move the other lights closer, I have my lights 2 inches away from the tops of my plants. For now you could just use the floresent bulbs. hang them about 2 inches from the tops of you plants they will be fine, once they get a little bigger u could put back ur gro light. But I would take away the incandesent bulbs, your just wasting power. I mean I have grown under a incandecent bulb but you would need like 20 of them and your floresents will work just fine instead

| | get the blue cfl lite if you look the forum about lights the more blue shades of light are better for the vege stage and the more red lights are for the flower stage. happy grow. | | Tags | dying, first time, fluorescent, grow, grower, growing, help me, indoor, leaves, plant, problems, time, yellow | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
