when is a good time to top a sativa

There is no good time to to topp any plant. I would not top the plant.

In very,very few strains it does. Other wise by cutting the top off the plant it stops growing up wards. Yea ya get 2 branches out the top but if i dont top i get many more. Its hard to explain. I know ya heard about it and many say it helps. You have not tried it other wise ya would agree with me. The only trimming i do is the lower branches or the branches that are skrawny from getting less light. Try it on 1 plant and see how it goes.

i tried FIM, regular topping, and supercropping, all on different jock horror plants. so far it doesn't seem to have been worth it. The plants that weren't fucked with are looking a lot better that the ones that were FIMed and topped. The supercropped ones just look like the plants that werent fucked with. i don't think i'll bother doing any of those things again.

I personally have never tried it but did some reading on it last night. From what I read they say some plants will only grow so much bud reegardless of what you do, so you may top it and get two colas but you may get half the bud on each cola as you would if you just left it to grow one, thus you will be no further ahead, you may actually be further behind as it will slow growth for a little. This article did go on to say that it does in fact work on some plants but suggested that you should maybe top 2 of say 10 plants to see what happens in the beginning. Just do a quick google search and you will find alot of articles.
