The closest they could track your IP to is your closest ISP router.

No, it'd be an invasion of privacy, however if you're worried use a proxy, like myinternetproxy . com a proxy changes your ip address so you're untraceable. lol, but you really have nothing to worry about... they can't use it as evidence due to privacy laws all they can do is act like a kid on the internet and if you try to meet up arrest you, but the internet is privacy protected... So don't worry about it. Just don't be a pedophile and you have nothing to worry about...

Based on a discussion with a narc, it is a lot of trouble to set up wire taps and other traces. It is not worth their effort. They prefer to find someone that they busted on the road or somewhere and have him/her rat out this/her source. They hate paperwork.
