i hate when people say that.
things i found wrong with mylar:
stains easy.
seems to be "clingy". i think when i get spots of powdery mildew it sticks to the mylar.
must be stretched and laid perfectly flat or you get bright spots. i experienced this just this last run. my oscillating fan would cause it to flutter and i could see bright spots of light moving across my plants.
hard to dispose of. i had to throw away a bunch the other day. i kept stuffing it in the garbage can and it kept trying to open up and pop back out. i had visions of waking up to find it on my front lawn after it fell off the dump truck. lol
things i found good about mylar:
very reflective.
easy to cover large areas in minimal amount of time and labor.
easily replaced.
covers everything and can help prevent light leaks.
cost efficient.
looks really cool, especially with some camera flash in the background.
now i'm playing fair.
