Default Tips to increase in veg growth and yeild?

Is there anything that helps increase veg growth or yeild? I'm growing about 8 seedlings on day 6 and they all look really healthy. I'm using CFLs, 2 40w and 3 23w (planning on getting more) inside a rubbermaid container. I'm using Foxfarm soil and I have some earth juice grow but holding off on using it just yet. Is there anything out there or any advice that you can recommend that speeds up vegetative growth and/or yeild? Thanks a lot! Everyone on these forums is extremely helpful and I'd never be where I am now if it wasn't for roll it up.

Hey buddy. I am on my first grow but i have been researching for about 20 hrs per week for about 3 months. First 2 months was spent sexing my babies and so now i am getting serious about growing for yeild. I have found that bending the grow tips gently will cause more nodes to start at say 1.5cm or down to 1cm if you are a bit firmer with your bending.. Also i have started to bed my clones and am growing them at 90degrees.. So they are growing horizontal. I use a stick that sits about 3 or 4 inches off the ground and as the new tip grows out and starts to grow up i tie it down to the stick. I am tying every 2 days as it takes 2 days to grow and shoot a new node. Nodes are about 1 to 1.5 centimitres apart. I haven't flowered like this yet but there are soo many branches and nodes that it will surely be the largest first harvest known to man. I am growing them horizontal due to height restrictions in my grow room and i might relax the tying in the flowering room to get a big cola.. Best of luck.

Default horizontal training

EXACTLY! I have mine running horizontal; but one other trick is to wire all the fan leaves down forming a 'skirt'. you really don't want to lose healthy fan leaves. that's your big solar panels/prioritizers!-but you also don't want to shade the line of buds. I also refrain from 'topping' when I can 'train'(think crazy 'burner coil' bonsai). you can train it around 'til you're out of horizontal space. and all the buds along the way suddenly get the idea that THEY are the kona bud! look out!

I have found that any fan leaves tend to stick out horizontally already. At every node the fan leaves stick out and the new branches grow up and out. So it tends to sort itself all out. I might post some pics tomorrow to show what i have been doing. I have quite a few clones so i might even flower early cause there are soo many node points that the plant might struggle to concentrate nutrients to all the points it needs to

Do you have any pictures of how your plants were tied up? I'd really like to see some examples! Thanks everyone

when starting from clone you can easly manipulate the growth compared to older plants

I try not to break them. but if you snap a top (topping) by accident then you will have 2 branches come out and start going. It's up to you but you can then run 2 sticks off in different directions and the cycle continues. I am using bag ties to tie them to bamboo sticks. The plants seem to really enjoy being bent and from what i can see it really makes them grow quicker. It's like they want to grow up but cause they can't they decide to grow quicker so they can grow up but then you tie them down again. It is time consuming and you can't let the plant thicken up at the new growth before you tie it down to the stick. Make sure your sticks are as long as you want the plant to grow long or you will have to muck around by adding another stick to it. You will notice that the trunk and branches of the tree really thicken into a strong plant and this should help when you get a shit load of buds at flowering time. I really can't wait to see how much yeild comes off these suckers. Stems are thick and there are branches every 1-1.5cm which are starting to sprout upwards. These branches i will bend gently so they too will be thick and have many nodes coming off them.. I have so many i might flower at differrent stages to see what yield comes from each time stage.
