Hit there, im new to this so please understand if i ask silly questions, but after hours of reading through the forum i cant seem to find the answer. I have recently come into possesion of 2 cuttings (from what i have read not very good ones as they only had one set of leaves). I followed all of the instructions ie placing in water to help prevent air getting into the stem, cutting stemat an angle, cutting the leaves down to reduce weight & surface area, dipping in hormone rooting gel etc. They are currently planted in soil placed within a propagator. Up until today i had them sitting upon a window ledge (we have been experiencing quite a heatwave here in the UK, but the ends of the leaves where i cut them have now started to turn yellow/brown and dying. I took a peek at the stems and they have reduced to about half the thickness and turned brownish in colour (is this the first stage in rooting?) I have now moved them into a warm cupboard (boiler cupboard) with 2x 100w equivalent (20w) cfl's approximately 15cm above the top of the propagator with a timer set for 18/6. I have been misting the leaves and watering every day with the heatwave. I really hope they work out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

im growing from manchester also hit by this heatwave!
like u jus taken some cuttings, but instead of using soil i always start of using rockwool cubes, or if you can try and find a product named "root riot" this seems to work too
but if like me you are on a low buget them rockwool is the answer!
ur light set up should be fine, but once the girls grow roots try and introduce a HPS light, or equiv.!!

cut down on the light intensity and increase the humidity. I use a 2 liter bottle with the bottom cut off and put it on top of the clone for the first 3-4 days, take the cover off mist 3 times a day and when I see roots poke out the bottom of my 2 ounce cup within 7-10 days of taking the cutting, I then transplant to a larger pot and put it under stronger light.

I suggest u get Real Domes , to hold ur humidity and no chance to get infected

~Thanks for all of your replies, i'm not holding much hope out for my little clones, they seem to be dying, I think its about time i source some new ones or some seeds now that i have a little more knowledge on the matter!
