Default New Leaves Turning Purple!!!
On some of my young plants, the newly formed leaves comming out from the centre are turning a slightly purple colour, they are all doing it, so maybe it is genetic. COuld somebody tell me what they think this might be please, i dont want them to die!
My temperature ranges from 77-90 (day) night it falls down quite far to around 60-67.
Humidity is 40 - 55 (day) and night 45-50. (i think)
do these sound ok to you, because i have spent all my money on lights and fans, and still it isnt changing that much. will they be ok?
I have put some homemade co2 in there, if that helps at all?

Maybe if we could get some pics, but in the meantime is it just the tips, or the whole leaf, and how purple is purple.

Is the plant growing fast?
Are each new set of fan leaves larger than the previous set?
What color is the stalk?

cheers

The plant is growing pretty fast, but could be growing faster, surprising as it is under hps.
The stem is a brilliant green and the leaves are a great lime green colour, but the middle of where the new set of leaves are sprouting from are turning slightly purple, it looks natural though i may be wrong. each new set is slightly bigger than last set.
It doesnt usually go to 90. only occasionally.
thanks again

No its not the tips of the leaves, it is the start of the leaves to about half way thru it. it is not to purple, but you can tell it aint green! I think it is genetically normal as the ice strain does tend to have purple characteristics.
What does purple mean in plants???
coz people say 'yeh my stems have gone purple and everything' that hapend to me, but only lasted a few days when they were very small.
Is purple bad?

Nitrogen Deficiencies:
Plants will exhibit lack of vigor, slow growth and will be weak and stunted. Quality and yield will be significantly reduced. Older leaves become yellow (chlorotic) from lack of chlorophyll. Deficient plants will exhibit uniform light green to yellow on older leaves, these leaves may die and drop. Leaf margins will not curled up noticeably. Chlorosis will eventually spread throughout the plant. Stems, petioles and lower leaf surfaces may turn purple.

Mine are alos turning purple, the 2nd set of true leaves after the cotyledons are shading to a light purple. No idea of it's genetic or from envrionmental conditions, but Phorphorus deficiencies or too cold of temperatures can cause purpleness in the leaves and stems.

Yeah or heat, but I think and hear some purpling is to be expected in young seedlings, if its still there in 2 weeks you got a problem.
