Naw, they aint worried about folks making a few tax free dollars. They have the power to tax it.
Think about the BILLIONS of untaxed money spent on the herb ANNUALY. How much tax revenue could be generated? We could end poverty in this country withy it. Every man, woman, and child could have adequate housing, food, health care and education, with alot left over. But that would make too much sense.
SO.............That leads us to the NEXT logical conclusion. There is MORE money to be had by keeping weed illegal. Legalization would have some far reaching effects. Many millions of tax dollars are allocated to fight the evils of pot, and that money would dry up if it were legal. An entire industry (Law enforcement, and corrections) would be severely impacted. Right now, corrections is THE LARGEST industry in the state of Florida, surpassing both tourism and citrus.
Bottom line is that there is more tax money to be had (SPENT, STOLEN, OR WASTED) by keeping pot illegal than there would be if pot were legalized and taxed. Thats our gov't at work.
