Hey , one of my friends just told me if i dont got some electrick co2 system i could use 2 coke or pepsi cans and open them leav them there till ther flat and the plants should of got co2.... is this true?

anyways man, the coke thing will work to release some co2 into the air, but i cant tell you how much.... may not be worth your time and money. i'll try to look into it for you, but im sure someone will have some better knowledge on the subject.

To answer the original question... no the open soda cans won't work. Here's why...

co2 (or Carbon Dioxide) is good for plants (although from everything I've read... mostly beneficial during flowering).

Anyway... an open soda can sitting in a grow room is not releasing straight co2.... sure maybe for the first few seconds after you pop the top... but after that... NOPE!

You need a concentrated steady deliver of co2 to be beneficial. (Use your brain.....do you really think growers would not have stumbled onto the soda can thing by now if that really worked?)

There are more then a few good threads here about how to make homemade co2 delivery systems... look them up (search on co2).... soda cans are NOT one of them.
