I take it you are operating a stealth grow - as I do.
Well, take it from experience, to begin with you will feel very paranoid about any fan noise you can hear. Although fairly quiet, the in -line fans tend to make most of their noise at the higher rates of speed.
Therefore, I would recommend getting the next size fan up, and also purchase a 3 pin dimmer switch to plug the fan into - that way you can turn the power down, but still have enough umph to do the job at a much reduced noise level.
I managed to get one of the dimmer switches off of ebay for £3.
Important to make sure the fan is mounted securely and does not vibrate.
Mount fan on internal wall, and not wall adjoining neighbours.
Bear in mind that although you may hear a little noise at night, the adjoining walls to your house that separate you and your neighbour will be alot thicker than the internal walls of your house.
Although expensive, if your grow room is that sensitive, it may be worth investing in an accoustic fan. Best to look on ebay again and get one second hand. |
