Poly said cut balls off and put them in a jar with something over it and the pollen will pop open inside
just make sure its got good air exchange, not flow cause you dont want you pollen flying off, but you also dont want it to mold and you want to remove moisture from it.

Drying up, mostly dry? How's the weight of it? Do you check need for drink by weight or just eye it? (Things I have never asked you)

the way to really tell when its time is when the ball sits on a little stem and is hanging. this usualy means you got 24-48 hours b4 it bursts
THANKS MAN!
I didn't know that was how to get a time frame.
Plus rep for that one for sure! (even though we won't use it that often hopefully).

red circle show pollen sacks that are not near ready, about a week away.
the blue circle is a sack that is ready. should be popping withing 48 hours, the red arrow points to the individual stem the sac sits on.

the red circle once again shows sacs that are not ready. but these are on a stem!?!? as a group. group stems dont count each sac will develop an individual stem as the get ready to burst.

blue circel and arrow shows a sac in a group like the red except it has its indiviual stem and is a day or 2 away from bursting.
