    Default Noise levels

    Hey,

I've currently got two exhaust fans and a 600w hps in my tent(160x120x60) however the noise of the fans is starting to draw attention.
I was thinking about changing to CFL then I could probably get a away with only one small fan. thoughts?

I think the 600w is too strong for the tent, would 2 250 CFL be ok for this size tent? I generally only have 4-5 flowering a once

4-5 plants at anything over 2ft and you need the 600w.

    Why is this drawing attention?

Are you growing somewhere you shouldn't be?

IMO if fans are hung up on bungee chords and you use acoustic ducting or silencers/mufflers or both then noise shouldn't be an issue.

Get a new extractor fan. You should only need one for a tent that size. I have a 'futuretech small acoustic fan' in a 120x120x200 tent and it is more than I need, and it is extremely quiet compared to the RVK budget fan I started with.

I agree with jondamon. It's easy to sound proof. You definitely don't want to lose your HID light.
