Everything I say is a lie. Pics are from the net......
What type specifically is your 900w?
God made marijuana, man made beer. Who do you Trust?
yeah get larger CFLs and put them 1-2 inches away.

I Have A Regular Walgreens Plant Bulb Which Is 900 Lumens= 60 Watts. My Two Cfls Are 13 Watts Each And Are 850 Lumens A Piece, That Is All The Lighting I Have.
I have two 105w CFLs (app. 800w incandescent total) within a few inches of a vegging Double Gum plant: so far I've seen no signs of heat stress. You can get those bulbs a LOT closer to your plants.
DUDE WHERE CAN I BUY BIGGER CFL'S HOW MUCH DO THEY COST? i only got two 13 watt cfls of which i got from my girlfriends dad lightbulb stash and a plant grow bulb which i got from walgreens, i did buy a good spot gro sylvania grow bulb for 8 bucks but it blew out last night. i dont have much money so i use wat i get my hands on i do have a 250 halogen light but it gets so dam hotttt!!!
What ever the highest lumen output is of the bulb...that's the most lumen's you will get. So if you have 5 1700 lumen bulbs...your still only getting 1700 lumen's, not 8500 lumen's. You can not add lumen's together.
Do NOT use halogen.
You can get the 42W cfl's from home depot, walmart...places like that.
