Default Temps
Plants are in second week of flowering and I am sure you have heard its extremely cold here in the North East. We have a heater in our grow room and have the room running between 63 and 68 farenheight with a bootleg ventilation system. Due to the location of the grow room its difficult to keep the temps stable just at that point. Should we shoot for higher temps by turning the ceramic heater higher? If we should what other changes would have to be made because of using the heater more?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

I think the next go around well start a journal Just need to get a digi camera

What kind of light do you have? if its a hps, How about just turning off your exhaust fan? you'll save money and get the needed heat rather than running a ceramic fan thats gonna produce heat that your exhaust fan is going to expell.

We are running 2 hps for flowering right now. Used MH for veg state. Because of the cold we have just been running an exhaust. Intake air is like 30 farenheight. I guess my more exact question is that i know we def need an intake and an exhaust which means more use of the heater. So by turning the heater up will this affect anything other than temp and if so what do I do to counter the possible negatives?

let me try this again, running your heater, along with your exhaust fan seems like a waste, One canceals out the other.
Why not put your exhaust fan on a timer that kicks on say, every 90 minutes, runs for only 15 minutes, than shuts off? This way your lights will provide the necessary heat, and the heat produced, will not immediately be expelled to the outside. The fan will still protect your babies from too much heat though. This method would be very easy to do.

You may need to play with the above mentioned timings, instead of every 90 minutes.....more or less to suit your needs.

Sorry to be thick headed man, my girl left me and my brain isnt working to full capacity. Makes much more sense to me now. My reasoning and troubleshooting skills are lacking. Thanks for taking the time to explain again.

Goodnight
