I think he was refering to different grades of weed becuase in alot of places "kush" refers to really, really dank weed rather than the strain and "5th" and "reggie" could be references of grade as well. Either way, it sounds like all he knows about weed was taught to him by the people he bought it from.

Where im from everyone uses the term dro. Sellers , buyers, smokers. I know thats not the name of the actual strain. The only way i can describe it is it looks like BC bud alot. Red hairs....lighter green color to it. Usually smooth smoke. But then again it can be used to describe anything thats not dry as fuck and covered in seeds. I have a 1/2 of dro ill take a picture of it and you can compare it to what your area calls it.

It still doesn't look like you know what the word 'strain' means. A strain is a particular genetic lineage-- as in descent. If your great great great grandfather was a Johnson, then you will also be a Johnson. It doesn't matter whether you were corn-fed or malnourished-- you are a Johnson.

There are places called 'seedbanks' that breed and preserve specific genetic lines. To the extent that they are careful and document the heritage of their seeds, their strain names have meanings.

'Regs', 'Mids' are generic names for levels of quality. Not strains.

'Hydro', and 'dro' are abbreviations of 'hydroponic', which is a name for a style of growing.

it really doesnt matter, ok so its not a strain, its a grade, but either way, u gro something hydro its gonna take that name, so if it doesnt have the name and it was grown hydro then wat are u gonna call it? DRO. so yes its a grade, ok i was wrong its not a strain, which i already knew, cuz ive been around bud a VERY long time, and ive learnd all the names for it, so if u put a regs seed in hydro....wat do u call it? better regs? or dro? hm...ima go with dro. cuz it was grow hydroponically. if u put a seed in hydro it will grow, unless u buy a specific strain of bud to put in it, vea bagseed or lowrider or w/e u like to grow. its still gonna turn out the same. so if u put a seed in hydroponics its gonna be called hydro UNLESS ITS A SPECIFIC STRAIN
