Default White hairs burning off?

Hi I`m finishing up my grow of Wonder Woman from Nirvana. The plants are roughly 7 weeks old. They are slowly filling out, while the hairs and just growing crazy, close to 3/4 inch from the buds. I have the plants probaly 1-2 inches away from 4 40w cfls. The hairs growing to the sides, and the hairs from the lower nods are growing fine. However the hairs from the top of the kola are a third of the length and look to be just dissappearing or burning off from the lights. Is that even possible?

it is possible for your HID lights to burn the pistils. What is more likely is the natural browning/darkening and withering of the pistils on a maturing plant.

pictures would help.
