Harvesting lower buds earlier

I know what the right answer is, i just want the facts..

I've got a plant thats 6weeks into flowering and I was wondering I can pull off the lower buds without damaging the plants, and will the lower buds be potent this early?

Sure if they are full of trichs. It will not hurt the plants to sample.

You would be better to take off the top of the plant. This will promote more growth below, and allow more light to penetrate. Sometimes ill do a second cut by cutting the tops off all the buds and taking all the fan leaves off and letting them go another 3 or 4 weeks. Very effective, and more potent than the first cut.
