I know that people say that topping will give you more, but smaller, buds as well as increase grow time. What if i veg. time is not an issue? Will topping create a greater yield if given more time?

Good question.......MY OPINION is the topped plant would give you more yield.....

it depends very much on the strain as to whether topping increases yield.

For example it is well known that Blueberry yields better when topped, whereas something like Chronic does not.

so it is best that you read up on your strains to see how they react.

in my opinion it is always worth topping one or two of the plants just to see how they react to topping for future reference.

topping usually adds a week to the growing period each time it is carried out.

in the pic you can see the difference topping can make. the plant on the left has been topped and it is apparent that it has 3 or 4 times the size bud the other one has. Strain is Buzzberry (bubblicious x blueberry).

does anyone know if topping Island Sweet Skunk (Jordan of the Island) increases yield?

i know the idea of topping/fiming, but i also know that some strains dont increase their yield when they are topped (ie. you get more smaller buds). so for this particular strain (island sweet skunk) does it increase yield?

i let everything shoot for the moon last year. this year i will try topping everything. to me a bud is a bud is a bud. we'll see how i do.
