-) Lighting (I was thinking about putting 100w t5 fixture if it's a 1x1 and 2x100W T5 if its 2x2, would that suffice ?) HID is out of question due the heat it produce and I don't want to have to rig up a ballast
-) How can I control the plant's height ? I don't want it to grow no more than 3 feet. I've read about SCROG but I'm afraid that it's too complicated for my first grow. Do I have to keep actively prunning and trimming the plant to do so ? Or will doing light cycle suffice

3) T5's are excellet. LED Without LEDs -My First T5 Grow heres a great thread about how to optimize that!
4)Scrog is not complicated, its a part of growing and its worth lerning . topping LST is probably best option together with starting flower at the right time. also stretch is very strain dependant so do your homework!

2) how many plants do you think I can fit in the 2x2 box ? and on average how much yield can I get ? You say its 1 gallon per mth of growth, so I assume 3 gallons would suffice ?
4) Can I fool the plan height by playing with the light cycle ? 18/6 for 2 mths with cool spectrum than switch to 12/12 for 1-2 mths with warm spectrum to induce flower.
I prefer to grow normally for the first time, I don't want to screw anything up since its my first time ever growing

i think you get a bit less stretch if you veg with 24/7 lights but i might have to be corrected on that... use more blue light and you get shorter bushier plants.
is that 2x2 feet/meter?
