I find that hanging my fresh cut buds in the Dark allows them to continue trichrome growth/maturity for another week, therfore prolonging the lifecycle of the cannabinoids xD
Hell, hang em in a carboard box and close the lid. LOL![]()
So I want to cut down three of my plants and leave one growing but....... I have to dry my bud n my flower chamber because I have no other options. HERES MY BEEF why for any reason at all other then tradition, do we have to dry and cure our bud in the dark, why cant i hang it in my grow chamber??? Is it because the guy that tough me and the guy that tough him, and the guy before that did it like that because he didn't have electricity in the room he dry HIS bud in so it was dark!!?? or is there a legitimate reason, like it may still photosynthisize while it hanging ??? no thats not it?? Maybe because cloropyle breaks down quicker??
I want answer!!
thats for all the imput in advance

what he said... now if im hard up ill set a wet bud on top of my light and let the heat from the hood dry it but that wasnt the question.. i hang dry in the dark and notice it improved the flavor/aroma of my finished producy, byt at hte same time i also stopped trimming wet too.. maybe a combo of the both
with that said you dont gotta do anything.. hang dry bag dry, trim wet/ dry who cares really but you? ur smokin the stuff try a few diffrent experiments and see what YOU LIKE.
iv read light does degrade thc tho.. but im not sure the truth of that statement

A skilled grower will always ensure that the prized harvest is dried slowly and in absolute darkness if allowed . We are in fact beginning a cure when we slow dry our plants in darkness and by keeping them in the dark we are allowing no light to degrade our precious THC or breakdown our terp profile . Some people think curing only takes place within a jar but they are wrong that is the end of the assembly line in this case ..
Drying in a well lit area will not necessarily impact a noticeable potency difference but be forewarned that once the trimmings are no longer turgid that the degradation of THC and Trichomes has already been initiated and any light will speed the process . As well remember when buds are fresh cut they will remain alive and transpire until all cells die within . By keeping them in the dark we are also postponing this process and allowing more of the terp to remain intact ..
As stated above , its best to experiment with drying and curing and allowing them to become one verses separate procedures . PotSnob![]()

For the OP
Dry some of your harvest in the dark and some in the light. Then you will truely have your answer. If you can't tell the difference, then what difference does it make? But if you can, - - - - !
i dry all my shit in my flower room while im cutting it down, lights on. dont tell anyone. buds still are stoney and look great
cereal box is the way to go for you ... open it to let fresh air in when lights are off and close it when lights are on.

Saving the world one tree at a time
you don't have to do anything
harvesting before the lights come on (i.e. the morning) is a good time because as soon as the light comes on, the terpenes begin to be degraded. they accumulate throughout the night, and that is why your plants smell the best right when the lights come on
so you're just giving yourself better smelling/tasting bud for no extra work
oh, i misread the thread.
you hang in the dark 'cause light oxidizes shit, and promotes malevolent growth like mold. 11th grade science baby
